The thirty-four-year-old former Republic of Ireland, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Cardiff and Wigan player is looking to overcome an injury problem at the Stadium of Light. However, his first-team prospects appear slim under boss Roy Keane on Wearside, prompting talk of a possible loan switch.
